A registration or safety certificate costs from $20 per 250-word page plus $0.08 per additional word, with no rounding up to full pages. Panama's 7% ITBMS tax is added on top, so a one-page certificate comes to $21.40. SOLAS, MARPOL or STCW certificates with long annexes are priced by word; a 500-word certificate, for example, comes to $42.80 with tax. For German ↔ Spanish, the page costs $25 and each additional word $0.10.

Do you need an apostille before or after the translation?
Depending on the destination, vessel registry certificates may need an apostille or consular legalization in addition to the certified translation under Executive Decree 975 of 2017. The apostille goes on the original first and the translation comes after, so it is translated too. A Panamanian certificate is apostilled at MIRE, by you or your lawyer; a foreign one, in its issuing country.
