How much does a certified translation cost?

We charge a base rate for the first page, up to 250 words, and the rest per word. English ↔ Spanish: $20 for the first page and $0.08 per additional word. German ↔ Spanish: $25 for the first page and $0.10 per additional word. The 7% ITBMS tax is added at the end and you always see the total before paying: a one-page birth certificate in English comes to $21.40. All prices are in US dollars.

Is it legally valid in Panama?

Yes. Every translation is signed and sealed by a Certified Public Translator (TPA), certified by Panama's Ministry of Education under Executive Decree 975 of 2017 and Resolution 2448 of 2018, and registered with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. That is why Panamanian institutions accept it.

What is a Certified Public Translator (TPA) in Panama?
A TPA (Traductor Público Autorizado) is a translator certified by Panama's Ministry of Education under Executive Decree 975 of 2017 and listed in the official registry of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MIRE). Only a TPA's signature and physical seal make a translation legally valid before Panamanian authorities such as Immigration, the Civil Registry, universities and banks.

How fast can I get my translation?
Standard delivery takes up to 3 business days. Express delivers in 1 business day (+50%), and Same-day (+100%) applies only when you request it before noon and a translator is available. Timelines start once you pay and apply to documents up to 10 pages (2,500 words); longer documents get a special volume price.
What if my document is longer than 10 pages?
It is quoted separately, with a special volume price. Up to 10 pages (2,500 words) you see the price and pay within a minute, online or on WhatsApp. From page 11, our team reviews the document and sends you the price and timeline on WhatsApp. Message us on WhatsApp or leave your number in the price calculator and we'll get back to you.
Do you deliver the printed original?
Yes. The signed and sealed PDF reaches you by WhatsApp or email at no cost. The printed original is delivered in Panama City for $5 + ITBMS per order, however many documents it includes. Outside Panama City, we confirm the shipping cost on WhatsApp before charging it.
How do I pay?
With Yappy, Panama's mobile payment app, available to customers of the banks in the Yappy network: the payment request appears in your app and you approve it in seconds, after seeing the full total including 7% ITBMS. Card payment is coming soon. Companies can be invoiced monthly.
Do you apostille or notarize documents?
No. Lingo does not provide apostille or notarization services. A foreign document is usually apostilled in the country that issued it before it is translated, so the apostille becomes part of the certified translation. We are happy to tell you the right order for your process; the filing itself stays with you or your attorney.
Are your translations valid for USCIS?
We deliver translations in full compliance with 8 CFR 103.2(b)(3): a complete English translation with the translator's signed certification of accuracy and competence. That is the format USCIS requires for foreign-language documents, and no apostille of the translation is needed. Acceptance of any filing is always decided by USCIS itself.
