Certified death certificate translation in Panama

A certified translation of a death certificate in Panama is signed and sealed by a Certified Public Translator (TPA) registered with MIRE, under Executive Decree 975 of 2017. It costs from $20 per 250-word page and arrives in up to 3 business days. It serves for estates, life insurance claims, international inheritances and filings with the Public Registry. We know this is a hard time, so the process stays short: send a photo or PDF and we take care of the translation.

What do you need the death certificate translated for?

How much does it cost?

Translating a death certificate costs $20 for the first 250-word page, plus $0.08 per additional word, with no rounding up to full pages. The 7% ITBMS tax is added on top, so a one-page certificate comes to $21.40. Medical or forensic reports attached to the certificate are quoted separately, based on their length and language. You see the full total before paying.

How long does it take?

Standard delivery takes up to 3 business days. Express delivers in 1 business day (+50%), and Same-day (+100%) applies only when you pay before 11:00 a.m. and a translator is available. These timelines apply to documents of up to 10 pages (2,500 words); for longer documents we prepare a special volume price and confirm the timeline on WhatsApp. You see the exact timeline in your quote before paying.

How does it work?

  1. 1Upload your document in the online quote or send it on WhatsApp.
  2. 2Get your exact quote in under 60 seconds; if your document is longer than 10 pages, we prepare a special volume price.
  3. 3Pay with Yappy from your app; confirmation is instant.
  4. 4A Certified Public Translator (TPA) registered with MIRE translates, signs and seals your document.
  5. 5Receive the signed and sealed PDF by WhatsApp or email at no cost, plus the printed original at your door: free in Panama City when your order adds up to 6 pages or more (one page = 250 words); $3 for 1 to 5 pages.

Do you need an apostille before or after the translation?

A foreign death certificate is apostilled first in the country that issued it, then translated in Panama so the apostille is part of the translation. If a translation made in Panama will be used abroad, it may need a MIRE apostille. You request that directly at MIRE or through your attorney. Lingo does not handle apostilles, but we will tell you the order. The translation itself takes up to 3 business days.

Frequently asked questions

Can the translation be used for an estate in Panama?
Yes. To open an estate or a declaration of heirs over assets in Panama, a foreign death certificate must be translated into Spanish by a TPA registered with MIRE, and it is normally apostilled. The translation reproduces every seal and the recorded cause in full, signed under Executive Decree 975 of 2017, so the court or the Public Registry can accept it.
How much does it cost, and how fast can I have it?
From $20 per 250-word page plus 7% ITBMS; a one-page certificate comes to $21.40 with tax. Standard delivery takes up to 3 business days. If an estate filing or an insurance claim has a close deadline, Express delivers in 1 business day (+50%), and you see the exact total and date before paying.
Do you translate the attached medical or forensic reports?
Yes. We translate the medical certificates, forensic reports and records that come with a death certificate. Each one is quoted separately on the same basis, $20 for the first page plus $0.08 per additional word, since their length varies. Everything is signed and sealed by the same TPA registered with MIRE, so the set stays consistent.
A relative died in Panama. Can you translate the certificate into English?
Yes. We translate Panamanian death certificates from Spanish into English at the same price, from $20 per 250-word page. For USCIS filings, we attach the certification required by 8 CFR 103.2(b)(3). For other institutions abroad, the receiving authority decides what it accepts, and some may ask for a MIRE apostille on the translation, which you request directly at MIRE.
Can you help with repatriation paperwork?
We translate the documents; the repatriation itself is arranged with the consulate and the authorities involved. Consular and repatriation procedures often ask for the documentation translated and, depending on the destination, apostilled. When time is very short, Same-day delivery (+100%) is possible if you pay before 11:00 a.m. and a translator is available.
