Certified tax return translation in Panama
A certified translation of a tax return or other tax document in Panama is signed and sealed by a Certified Public Translator (TPA) registered with MIRE, under Executive Decree 975 of 2017. Returns vary in length, so they are priced by word, from $20 for the first 250 words. You usually need one to prove your income in a residency application, to support a visa, or for international banking and financing.
What do you need your tax return translated for?
Residency and solvency
Proving your income for a residency permit can require your home-country tax return translated into Spanish, together with your bank and employment documents.
Visa applications
Consulates may ask for a translated tax return as proof of financial capacity. We also translate Panamanian returns into English or German for visas abroad.
International banking
KYC checks and financing requests can ask for your tax situation in Spanish, so the bank in Panama can review your declared income.
How much does it cost?
A tax return is priced by word: $20 covers the first 250-word page and each additional word adds $0.08, with no rounding up to full pages. Panama's 7% ITBMS tax is added on top. A personal return runs about $35–55; a corporate return with schedules can reach $100. A 500-word return, for example, costs $40, or $42.80 with tax. You get a fixed price once we see the document.
How long does it take?
Standard delivery takes up to 3 business days. Express delivers in 1 business day (+50%), and Same-day (+100%) applies only when you pay before 11:00 a.m. and a translator is available. These timelines apply to documents of up to 10 pages (2,500 words); for longer documents we prepare a special volume price and confirm the timeline on WhatsApp. You see the exact timeline in your quote before paying.

Do you need an apostille before or after the translation?
A tax return is usually filed with the certified translation by a MIRE-registered TPA alone, but depending on where you use it, the original may also need an apostille. If it does, apostille the original in the issuing country first, then have it translated in Panama so the apostille is part of the translation under Executive Decree 975 of 2017. Lingo does not apostille documents; the issuing authority or your lawyer handles that step.
