Certified master's degree translation in Panama
A certified translation of your master's degree, specialization or doctorate diploma is signed and sealed by a Certified Public Translator (TPA) registered with MIRE, under Executive Decree 975 of 2017. It costs from $20 per 250-word page and arrives in up to 3 business days. You usually need it to have your graduate degree recognized in Panama, to work in your field or join a professional association, or to apply to a doctoral program.
What do you need your master's degree translated for?
Graduate degree recognition
Your translated master's diploma is part of the recognition file at the University of Panama or UTP, together with the study plan.
Jobs and professional associations
Employers and professional associations in Panama ask for your graduate degree in Spanish to confirm your specialization.
PhD programs and scholarships
Applying to a PhD or a scholarship calls for your master's diploma and grades in the program's language, which abroad is usually English.
How much does it cost?
Translating a master's diploma costs from $20, because it fits within the 250-word first page; with Panama's 7% ITBMS tax it comes to $21.40. If you also translate your graduate transcript or study plan, each one is quoted by word, at $0.08 after the first page, with no rounding up. A German diploma costs $25, or $26.75 with tax. Translating the full set at once gets you one quote and one delivery.
How long does it take?
Standard delivery takes up to 3 business days. Express delivers in 1 business day (+50%), and Same-day (+100%) applies only when you pay before 11:00 a.m. and a translator is available. These timelines apply to documents of up to 10 pages (2,500 words); for longer documents we prepare a special volume price and confirm the timeline on WhatsApp. You see the exact timeline in your quote before paying.
How does it work?
- 1Upload your document in the online quote or send it on WhatsApp.
- 2Get your exact quote in under 60 seconds; if your document is longer than 10 pages, we prepare a special volume price.
- 3Pay with Yappy from your app; confirmation is instant.
- 4A Certified Public Translator (TPA) registered with MIRE translates, signs and seals your document.
- 5Receive the signed and sealed PDF by WhatsApp or email at no cost, plus the printed original at your door: free in Panama City when your order adds up to 6 pages or more (one page = 250 words); $3 for 1 to 5 pages.
Do you need an apostille before or after the translation?
To have your graduate degree recognized, the master's diploma is usually apostilled in the issuing country and then translated in Panama, together with the study plan, so the apostille is translated too. Forgetting to apostille the study plan is the most common reason files are rejected. If you need to apostille a Panamanian document, you do that directly at MIRE or through your attorney. Lingo does not provide apostilles; the translation itself takes up to 3 business days.
